Now's your chance, A25 project boat for $5

Post by DesertAlbin736 »

Seen on Seattle CL, located on Fidalgo Island south of Anacortes, WA. 1975 A25 DeLuxe. Derelict project on derelict trailer.

Ad copy: "1975 albin 25 deluxe and trailer
both need work. sold as is. i don't have much info on the boat has been sitting for a while now. was a project that kept getting put off. make an offer"

"Needs work" is an understatement. Trailer is painted steel & pretty much junk. Lacks a propeller. No interior cabin photos but likely as bad as the cockpit. Would need total restoration from scratch. Besides "sweat equity" would probably take about what a restored boat would be worth in parts & materials to bring it back to life including woodwork, canvas, cushions, mechanicals, etc. Has bow pulpit rail but no stern rail or lifelines. Can't tell from photos but the roof over the wheelhouse is likely open to the weather

I'm not posting a link, but easily found on Seattle CL/boats/search "Albin".

Picture of wheelhouse interior. I’ve seen worse, I think it has potential…

Of course, everything under the sun has potential, including this beauty:

Good eye. Notice also that it is DeLuxe. Well the word says "DeLuxe".

Most of that will buff right out...

That is certainly a different engine. 1975 was the MD17C engine.

I was thinking it was a different motor as well. Maybe I just like pain, but I see this as a good starting point, if you don’t care about the costs.

I wondered about the engine too. Not Volvo green, Yanmar grey, nor Beta red. Could be a Universal? Westerbeke? Nissan? In any case it's 4 cylinder. Otherwise hard to tell from the photo. Could be a deal for someone with space available to park it, time to work on it, an on site shop to do woodwork & canvas. Engine could make or break any deal. But if the engine is good that would help. Otherwise got to believe the interior is trashed & probably full of rain water. It's located somewhere on Fidalgo Island outside & south of Anacortes if the map location circle is anywhere close. Tried sleuthing the location by trying to match visual clues the background of the photos to Google Map satellite & street views without actually calling or asking the seller but no luck. Could be in one of several storage or boat yards in the area.

It's a 4 cylinder and has the look of a Solé or Vetus. I guess the boat is worth $10 now.
