Hello from Saugatuck, Michigan

Cindy and I purchased a 2003 Albin28 TE in July 2020. We found it advertised on this site by John Kisbert, an AOG member in Melbourne, Florida. John kept meticulous care and records. The survey validated his care. The purchase included a trailer. We had it transported to Tower Marina in Douglas, Michigan and berthed her there for the remains of the summer. We spent that summer and fall getting familiar with how she behaves. This is our first cruising boat. I've always been a dinghy sailor (Laser currently) and we also own a 2009 Whaler Montauk. So the learning curve with this beauty will be steep. So many systems! This AOG site and individuals with expertise and experience is incredibly valuable. Thank you all.
We plan to have a few short cruising excursions this year. We purchased the Great Lakes Waterway Guide for tips and advice. We own two deeded slips out the front of our full time home in Saugatuck and plan to berth her there. So we're off! A bit nerve wracking, but I think humility and caution is a good thing. Cheers!
