Monterey Bay, brings back some good memories. Before becoming an Albin 25 owner in 2014 I owned a series of trailerable sailboats over the years dating back to 1998, including a Montgomery 15 from 2001-2005. In addition to local sailing on Lake Pleasant here in AZ, I used to be a subscriber to Small Craft Advisor magazine which along with the Potter Yachters of northern California sponsored annual "Cruiser Challenge" fun races on Monterey Bay which mostly involved Potter 15, Potter 19, Montgomery 15 and Montgomery 17 boats along with a few other types racing in two classes, 16 ft & under and 17 ft & over. I trailered my boat out there in 2002 & 2003 & took 3rd place in the 16 ft & under class both times. Loved that area & harbor. On one of those occasions someone snapped a picture of me in my boat which Jerry Montgomery used in ads for his rigging service a few years before he came out with his Sage series of boats.

In addition to Monterey I sailed this same boat from Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles out to Catalina Island in 2003.

I've also been in contact with Rich Armstrong (not to be confused with Rick Armstrong, aka "WillieC" on this board), when Charles Fort did this story on our Albin adventures in 2020.
