1999 28TE Opinions

Post by allante »

Hi - Considering a 1999 28 TE with a 300hp Beast.
Listed with 300hours.
Seems extremely low but maybe they never use the boat.

Thoughts? Issues due to low usage?

thanx

The motor must have been repowered. 300 hours on a 22 year old motor is rare, but not impossible. I would ask the seller why there hours are so low and if they have the the service history on the engine.

Regardless, I wouldn't runaway from the opportunity. If they don't have answers to your question, a good surveyor will ensure the engine (and boat) are in good order and tell you what needs to be maintained or corrected. From there, you can decide if you want to runaway or not and use the list of fixes to negotiate the price if you want to continue to move forward.

If this is listed publicly, please share the listing. If this is listed privately and the seller has shared pictures, please post the pics. Would love to see the boat.
