1997 Albin 32+2 Hull coring

Post by Albinflorida »

Anyone know if the coring in a `1997 hull is balsa or synthetic. I can't remember when they changed over.

Pretty sure its balsa, when I did the scary job of cutting in a new thru-hull!

In 2002 Albin annnounced a change to Airex coring. Announce versus the reality, I'm not sure. Either way, Albin did insert solid synthetic blocks into the core where they had installed thru-hulls. I found this to be true on my 2006 when I replaced the head overboard discharge thru-hull and again changing a thru-hull on my 2002 (hull laid in 2001).
