Searching for Paint color

Post by Jones »

Preparing to paint the hull of my 2003 32+2 CB. Originally it was a dark green that has turned to a much lighter color now with the oxidation. Can anyone give me any information on the original color. I intend to paint with Awlgrip and would like to replicate the original color if possible.

FWIW - My 2006 31TE is painted with Awlgrip "Jade Mist Green" which was pretty darned close to the original green gelcoat.

Here's a better picture of Kevin's hull to show the color.

Our 96 32+2 had the original Albin dark green gel coat and we've also used the Awlgrip jade mist for a near perfect match. You'll love having it painted for beauty and low maintenance for several years!

I want to know how the painted links hold up going through the windlass? 😂
The little stuff I pick up on this website is great.
Do you get a season? Great idea.
Thanks Kevin and Rob.

Six seasons in, going for seven and I anchor alot. Rob can chime in too as he followed me with the same application. I will say that after another season or two it could probably use a refresh, but it most likely will not not be entirely necessary. The links are coated with white and red liquid electrical tape, so the coating is heavier and brighter than paint. The rode is 120 ft. of ACCO G4 chain and then 170 ft. of Yale nylon 5/8' 8-plait/brait.

Good subject, but start a new topic rather than hijacking this one and we'll go from there...

Thanks for all the help, Jade Mist Green looks just a little light.er than the color of my boat. Donegal Green seems to be a little closer so the guys preparing to do the job. They went under the side and used some type of meter to pick up the color. In either case, I appreciate the information and I will post the finished product after it is complete.
