Rudder Cracked

Post by Diggie »

My rudder has about a 7" crack completely through on the lower third of the rudder. I believe the prop shop will be able to repair. The rudder appears to have been poorly maintained. A good bit of deep pitting in the same area which probably weaken the rudder enough thus now cracked. If welding shop cannot repair are there rudder replacements or other companies that make this rudder?
Thanks for any advice,

Most likely Buck Algonquin. I know that the 28, 31 & 35 TE rudders are their skeg rudder product.
