ANYMORE ATTENDEES NOT YET REPORTING IN? We really need to hear from any of you who have not yet confirmed your plans for attending the Roche/Lopez Rendezvous. Dave and I are finding those difficult part of helping plan and organize is lacking accurate responses from those planning to attend.
We can do a better job for you if we can accurately estimate those planning to attend. We do understand a few must wait until the last moment to make a decision. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE LIKELY TO ATTEND PLEASE DO LET US KNOW.

Thank you,
Howard

That was taken during our last San Juans bareboat charter, on the beach at Inati Bay on Lummi Island.

Valtrent: Yes, we have 15 slips on hold until last 2 weeks before Rendevous. However, you need to contact Roche directly to confirm your attendance. Let them know you are with the Albin Owner's Group.
Thanks,
Howard

Would like to, but not sure exactly where Mark & Nancy's home is located except that it's somewhere on Aleck Bay. Can someone give some more precise location info, like GPS coords & where to land? Beach or dock? Is it near some of the named streets in the neighborhood of Aleck Bay Inn?

We'll likely launch from Bellingham around June 21st to 23rd or thereabouts, so we'll have a couple weeks of cruising to do prior to July 10th. That said we'll probably spend that time up in the Gulf Islands, so will have to clear customs back into the US at Roche or Friday Harbor before heading over to Aleck Bay. We could do the San Juans first and go to the Gulf Islands later, except we're supposed to meet my wife's sister and brother in law and do some cruising with them in the San Juans after the Albin rendezvous when they bring their 25 ft Bayliner sedan cruiser up from Oregon.

Getting anxious to get up there. 110 degree heat forecast for tomorrow here in Phoenix. Haven't seen a drop of rain since March. Official Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport rainfall total for the year still stands at 0.99 inches. That's 99 hundredths of one inch and about 2 inches below normal for this time of year.

Howard,
I had sent you an pm last Friday letting you know that we wouldn't be able to make the rendezvous. I was wondering if you had received it since you had written me a day or so later asking if we were going to make it. We just have too much going on now and I have a dr's appointment on the Monday after the rendezvous that I can't reschedule.
Maybe next year we will be able to make it.

Pete & Kathleen: Sorry to hear you won't make it this year. Did not receive your posting at the personal email. Salmon fishing has been good here in Trinidad thus far. Just need a nice big smoker for the year.

Might make it up to Brookngs once this season with the Osprey.

Here is the information on the day trip to PELINDABA LAVENDER FARM

SAT., JULY 12 ALBIN OWNERS SAN JUAN EXCURSION TO PELINDABA LAVENDER FARM

We are so excited to be part of this group! Here are the details for a possible day trip around the island:

10:15 Catch San Juan Transit from Roche Harbor
10:40 Arrive in Friday Harbor
11:10 Transfer to another bus to Pelindaba Lavender Farm
11:20 Arrive at the Farm
1:20 Depart Lavender Farm to return to Friday Harbor
1:55 Arrive in Friday Harbor
2:00 or 3:10 Transfer to another bus back to Roche Harbor
3:35 Arrive Roche Harbor

We have a couple choices. We could spend the last hour in Friday Harbor, which is always a lot of fun. Or, we could leave Friday Harbor at 2:00 and stop for an hour at the Alpaca farm and grab the 3:24 bus back to Roche. I suppose we could just head back to Roche at 2:00, but the other 2 options sound like more fun!

Here is the website for the Lavender Farm. http://www.pelindabalavender.com. Admission is free. They have a very nice gift shop. (I'm addicted to their lotion!) You can go out into the field and pick your own lavender. I think there is a small charge for that. The do have some food, like cookies and tea, but we should bring a lunch to enjoy on the beautiful grounds. I think that 2 hours there is about right.

Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm (http://www.krystalacres.com) would be a new experience for me. I just called them and they sound so nice. An hour is plenty of time, and admission is free as well. They have a gift shop. I vote we stop there!

WHAT TO BRING: Sack lunch & water
Good walking shoes
$15 for San Juan Transit day pass
Spending $$!
Sunshine!

I think that's it. Please let me know if you'd like to join us on July 12.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!
