Doug,
For rendezvous, Crocker's in New London has many slips available with swimming pool. You have restaurants/bars in New London, the Nautilus submarine and Naval Museum for touring and of course the casinos a taxi ride away. Also free wine and cheese tasting on Friday night within short walking distance. The Garde Arts theatre is also a walk away as is Fort Trumball. You can also cruise up the Thames to Norwich and Americas on the Wharf restaurant.
Just a thought!

We should ad that to the list for consideration next year, it sounds interesting!
I've actually finallized on Essex Island for this year. It's close enough for Kat and I to drive there with any supplies and it's been a great spot in the past. My work schedule has me flying out of town every Monday - Friday so ease of coordination was important!
Hope we'll see you there.

Doug, we will be there, just a short cruise for us from New London. If you need any help from someone on this end let me know. dmorlo@aol.com
Essex is a nice town with museum on the river, great stores and the Griswold Inn restaurant.
Steam train ride along the river is scenic and fun and many other things to do and see.
