28TE flush deck is my dream boat

Post by Nancy »

Ahoy! I've been lurking here occasionally for probably a couple of years and finally decided to register. A 28TE flush deck--preferably with a white hull--is my dream boat. But first we have to sell our 1978 Trojan F32, no small challenge in this market. In the meantime, I'll keep reading and dreaming.

The 24' Getaway has also caught my interest, but they are few and far between. I've heard about the 27' Getaway, but have not run across any information on them.

Welcome Nancy. The F32 was on my short list before I purchased the Albin. Nice boat.
What is your boating area?

Hi, John.

We're on Lake Champlain - Malletts Bay is our home port.

Nancy:

Checkout:

http://albinowners.net/aog//////////vie ... =28&t=1956

for more information on the 24 Getaway. I believe that the 27 Getaway just has a 3 foot aft deck extension and have seen only one on the market in 5 years or so. There have been three 24's that I know of in the same time frame.

Verify your desired use for a 24, as an 8 foot drop in boat size may not meet your needs...

Have fun,
Joe

I don't seem to be able to copy and paste correctly.

The link is to this web site an the A25/A27 forum. Look for the 24 Getaway topic...

Although I'm on the Chesapeake, the hailing port for my boat was LCYC. (Lake Champlain YAcht Club)

Thanks, Joe. I've seen the thread on the Getaway 24. Yes, we'll be careful about moving to a 24' boat. We went from a 24' Grady White to the Trojan. Now we're ready to downsize as our use has changed.

John, small world! My parents sail out of LCYC. How long ago did you buy your boat and from whom?

The original owner (forgot his name) had the boat there 96-2000. He passed away in 97 and it sat on the hard until 2000 when the Kronenberg's bought it. They brought it to Maryland. I purchased in Dec., 2005.

By the way, the 28TE is my dream boat too.
