We Made It

Post by C&D »

We successfully made the journey from Ft. Lauderdale to Hilton Head, SC. We left on a Tuesday morning and headed off shore to a run up to the Jupiter inlet. That was a nasty inlet and would not advise going in or out of this inlet. I am glad we did as it afforded us the opportunity to see Tiger Woods residence from the ICW. We had stops in Jensen Beach. Coco Beach. Daytona Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Kilkenny Ga.,before arriving in Hilton Head on a Sunday afternoon. The only other harrowing part of the trip was navigating Hells Gate in Ga. We made it through with 1.5 feet under the boat.

The Cummins performed great and we burned 300+ gallons of fuel on the trip. Our inverter went out the 2nd day as well as our waste water vacuum pump. Headed to the boat today to see if I can fix. All in all a great trip and what an adventure! :D

Congratulations! Yes, that Jupiter inlet can be verrrry nasty. Took a fishing charter out of there in a 32' Blackfin; good thing the captain did that for a living every day! Tossed around like a toy, it was the max waveheight that he would run through.
Good luck on your repairs and have a great season!
