GPS power loss when using bow thruster

Post by go.boating »

2007 albin 35te

When I use the bow thruster gps turns off.

I was told it’s a common issue with the way albin wired
It. And a simple fix

Anyone know how to fix this?

Move the bow thruster wiring from the house battery to the the start battery and your issue will be resolved. I also moved my windlass wiring to the Start Battery Bank. Both of these functions are only being utilized while your engine is running and your alternator is charging the Start Bank.

Another thing to consider is to add a DC Power Conditioner to prevent voltage dropouts to your electronics. Newmar makes one .. Model NP12. Though not necessary when switching up the wiring to the start battery, I added this as well.
