ladder back helm seats

Post by Elizabeth Ann »

It's time to start shopping and I'm looking to get the old man two new seats at the helm. I'm wondering what chair makes (and models if available) do you folks have on your 28? I specifically looking for ladder back or something similar (i.e. not the average roto-molded seat).

I figured I'd ask this way I didn't have to send Mother Hubbard or lil' sis out on the boat to do measurements.

Cheers and Merriment!

On my bill of sale and feature sheet from Standish they designated my seats only as Deluxe helm seats so I cannot be 100% sure as to the make. I have compiled a folder in my computer as "My Albin" to help with replacement parts etc.. I had done a search sometime ago for my helm seats and came up with a seat from Garelick which matches my aluminum frame exactly, but the vinyl is a bit different. They sure are comfy. I am sure a call to Garelick could confirm. I did call them for a part number for the under platform swim ladder and at that time they said they supplied Albin with a few of their products. Here is a link to the helm seat. A great gift idea ! 8)

I'll be headed down to the boat at some point in the next few days and will check for any markings, part #'s etc. and post what I do or do not find.

EA, I went to the boat today and there was a label on the bottom cushion of the helm seat from Bristol Cushion in Warren RI. On there website I would say my chair is, wouldn't ya know it, the Deluxe Helm Seat. The difference being mine is not in Sunbrella, but white vinyl. Here is a link. Give them a call. They also make the cabin cushions for Albin. Thanks for helping me identify another component of my Albin.

EA, check out the newly posted pics by Cape Codder. The helm seats on Santosha are the Deluxe Helm Seats from Bristol.
