Window latches 31 te

Post by Jkraft »

Hey all, does anyone know of a source for replacement window latches for the sliding windows on a TE? Mine are broken and I’m getting tired of the front windows sliding open

they look like the same ones I have on my 28, and the port side needs to be replaced as the front portion of the window continues to slide aft............hoping someone responds with a vendor.

Hey Gregg, in speaking with Kevin & a couple of others, they were made by BOMAR but they aren't very responsive. I am not sure what my next steps will be just yet but I am wondering if 3D printing may be an option. I will let you know what I find out.

I'd like to see how those latches work. My 31 TE has been altered to something that is OK and simple, but not great. (I'll take a photo) Also - I have a 3D printer. Happy to print small stuff like this in PETG for no cost. I just redid my rod holder rings and they came out pretty good. (top one in the photo...)

From past experience, Bomar is horrible, I've tried to order from them, very bad experience, my last order was for screens for my window, they stated they were back ordered by 9 months, four days later I receive screens for the windows............wrong ones, sending them back was an adventure, then after waiting the nine months, it took me countless emails, and non returned phone calls, until another 3 months went by, to find out they couldn't be obtained.................not sure how they stay in business. if obtaining the latches from Bomar is our only hope, hope is lost along with the latches

Rob, that rod grommet looks great! Did you make just the outer ring? What about the foam type material in the middle?

Sooo - I bought some neoprene rubber off of Amazon and cut it out with kitchen scissors. We'll see how it holds up to UV. It was a bit more labor intensive than I would like. You can get grommets pretty cheap online, but I did it as a little project. And I was not sure if the screw holes for the ones online would match up.

I'm happy to share the 3D model or print some up if you want.
