Main Forums Index Page Not Updating?

Post by chiefrcd »

John,
On the main forums index page, for me it never updates. Once I go into a specific forums it shows the latest post, but the main index page is stuck back in June/July. Any ideas how to get that to update. I use the refresh button to no avail. Thanks for any assistance.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? I can't recall where the option is with IE, probably under TOOLS. In Firefox it's in Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Cache

When pages aren't clearing that can fix it.

Before you do that though try holding down Shift when you refresh, if I recall correctly that forces IE to pull the data from the server and not the cache.

Good luck...

Tried clearing the cache, no luck...I use FoxFire but I cleared both IE and Foxfire.......no big deal...just would be nice to glance at the main index and see what was new.

That is very odd, and seems to be isolated to your computer. I would suggest checking your temporary internet files settings. You should have the radio button for "Check for newer versions of stored pages" set to "Every visit to the page".

Chief,
Are you talking about the column that shows last post date/time/user? Mine seems to update as well. There is also a link to "mark all topics read". I've never tried it but it should update your pages. I don't use Fire Fox so I can't help with settings. As Mariner mentioned, in IE, it's under Tools, General, settings.

Yep, that's it John, my computer where I work part time is working fine, as apparently everyone else....Mine seems to be stuck in June..... I think I will just delete the entire site and reload it and see what happens. Thanks all....
