Oil Manufacturer

Post by James Grant »

Howdy:

Would just like to do a quick survey on what manufacturer of oil you folks use. I've been told Shell Rotella 30 W is a very good product but here in Ontario it's not easy to acquire. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks a lot

I also use Shell Rotella T 15W-40. I imagine you would benefit from the multi-grade too up there in the north. I've used Shell for my boats for about 35 years now and have never had a problem.

Delo, Rotella, Delvac...it's about the only thing on the boat I buy strictly by price when it's on sale, usually at Walmart. Usually in xxw-30 or 40 weight. No need for single weight with modern oil, and less startup wear with a multi viscosity oil.

Roy: Happy to see you posting again. It has been awhile. Have used Delo 400 on all my engines and previously motorhomes with great success.
Made it up to Desolaton Sound this season and Princiess Louis Inlet to Chatter Box falls. Still not quite sure where you are located along that run.

What a great cruise.
